Currently in Denmark for work, I couldn’t find a best time to bring this post to you. In the country of the famous Lego brand, I thought it was time to highlight an innovative cute way to bring some colours to your city..for the pleasure of designers, pedestrians and kids..it’s called Dispacthwork.
Dispacthwork is a form of art (dispacth + patchwork), pretty new I think as I couldn’t even find anything on wikipedia about it. It consists of fixing walls, building, pavement or any urban stuffs with Legos. The result is a colourful piece of art well embeded into the urban landscape and accessible to anyone.
Basically you shouldn’t need any glue to make them sticky if you find the right spot with the right lego parts, therefore I doubt the cops will annoy you too much, and it could be a fun way to entertain kids in the city too.
From a far distance you could think that it could be some kind of Space Invaders, even if it’s not, I’m pretty sure that Dispatchwork could have the same success and will start to spread around the city. Have a look at one of the few decent website talking about it: http://www.dispatchwork.info/ and some nice pictures below:
